A super talented friend from my Bible study knit me the most ADORABLE wool diaper cover! It's my very first cover made of wool. I have to say, I was skeptical about the waterproof properties of wool. It just doesn't
look waterproof so I just didn't think it would actually
work despite many testimonials. But it did. It's amazing. And even when it gets wet, if you let it air dry the smell goes away and it's ready to use again. I didn't even lanolize the thing and it was still waterproof! And when she wore it over night, I let her really soak her diaper to see how much it could hold. It did get slightly wet at that point but I hadn't put a very heavy duty diaper on her and anyway, she had absolutely no rashes with the cotton prefold and a wool cover against her skin. I think I'm liking these natural fabrics!
Showing off the fitted diaper I made from one of her prefolds. It obviously has the double purpose of absorbing her drool--ha ha!
Yes, I will eventually be posting a tutorial so that you can make your own!
I think she likes it!
Time to do the laundry! I'll help you, mommy!!!
So my friend said she'd teach me how to knit three dimensional things. I'm so excited! I think I'm going to find a pattern and then say, "Okay! Here I am! Teach me!" Maybe we can work on it a little bit at a time during our weekly before-Bible-study dinners. Hmmm...

you realize now you'll be addicted to wool for life?
that picture with her looking up at you, in the middle of them all, that's amazing! I need to try some wool and pronto.

I love the ruffles on the cover! I've only knitted a few ugly looking hats {a few years ago} but would love to one day become advanced enough to make a cover like this.
Looking forward to your tutorial for the fitted diaper made from a prefold - we have a dozen prefolds that are HUGE on my daughter right now.
haha so cute. It really doesn't look waterproof that is awesome that it works so well, I have never tried wool
The cover is adorable!! And so is your daughter modeling it. Oh gosh, I'm sooo afraid to use wool. I don't know if it will ever happen since my little guy needs to potty train soon.
