My Stash

So, I wanted to do a picture of my FULL stash for awhile and doing the flats challenge a couple of months back afforded me that opportunity.  Being as busy as I am, I haven't been able to post the pictures til now, which means that I've also acquired a couple more diapers that aren't pictured.  Doh!
Here's my pockets (with one or two AIOs and AI2s):
I have them stacked by brand. I'm SUCH a dork!
Top row: Tweedlebugs, Haute Pockets, Anna Banana Designs, and Baby Kicks
Second row: Two stacks of bumGenius! (14 total), 4 Happy Heinys, 6 Fuzzi Bunz (i've since gotten the Spearmint as well), 5 Rump-a-rooz
Bottom row: 2 Knickernappies, 2 Smartipants, 1 Rocky Mountain, 1 Grovia AIO, and 1 Katydid (now called Oh Katy!)
Diaper Junction has also sent me the Best Bottom diaper to film since I took that picture.

Here are my fitteds and my wool (with one fleece cover thrown in):
The above picture is JUST the fitteds.  There are only three that I bought.  The rest I, or a friend made.  The back row is all my T shirt fitteds (for sale in my Etsy shop)
Front row: Happy Heiny's Sherpa fitted, a bamboo fitted flat from a friend, a Bum Covered Diapers fitted, and a bumGenius bamboo fitted.
And here are my fitteds with my wool:
Most of the wool is hand knit, but I did upcycle one cranberry wool sweater into a soaker, a skirtie and some longs.

Here are my prefolds:
The top right is a Hemp babies prefold.  The white ones are Chinese prefolds, and the unbleached ones are Indian, unbleached prefolds.  To some of them, I've added snaps, and to the one on the top right, I added leg elastics so it looks like a fitted when it's on my baby, but dries, folds, sizes like a pre fold :-D.  After taking this picture, I got four more prefolds from Diaper Junction to use for this video: They're sized medium and large, and both bleached and unbleached.

After washing all my flats after the Flats Challenge, I took a photo of them and my PUL covers.
Here they are, five Osocozy unbleached birdseye cotton flat diapers, four flour sack towels from Target, and 12 large Diaper Right unbleached flat diapers from Diaper Junction that are featured in three videos on Diaper Junction's youtube channel.

Finally, here are my PUL covers.  I don't have very many, though now I do have the Best Bottom diaper that can be used for only the cover should I choose to do so.
Top: size 2 Thirsties Duo wrap with aplix, Medium Thirsties wrap, a Green Earth diaper cover (I believe.
Bottom: Bumkins, size medium, Thirsties duo wrap size 2 with snaps, and one of my own diaper covers with PUL and an outer layer of my college T shirt.

I also have the Fluff Stash app now for my iPhone which is a nice way of organizing my stash for my personal reference and for swaps and sales should I choose to use it for that.  Here are a couple of pictures of that.  You should try it out for yourself!

Best Bottom Diaper Tutorial is UP!

I've been working on this video for Diaper Junction for a month! I didn't mean to take so long but got involved in a bunch of different projects and then we went away for ten days.  Also, I started back at school this Monday so you can see how it would have been delayed.  If you've never used the Best Bottom system or you are on the market to try cloth diapers for the first time, you might want to check this out! It's a cool system.  Easy to use and trim, and somewhat more economical than pocket diapers.  You can also use the covers alone, without the Best Bottom inserts.

I like the diaper, but I think I would prefer the system if I had a lot of them.  Right now, since I only have the two inserts (and the overnight), it's more like having just one or two AIOs or AI2s rather than a sweet system with interchangeable inserts.  My one and only concern about this diaper is the fit at the waist.  It seems a bit awkward for my Bunny.  But every baby is different, so you might find that it works for your baby's body type.  Anyway, check it out:

Trip to the Aquarium

We just LOVE taking Bunny on educational and exploratory adventures.  She's finally old enough, this summer, to really appreciate these types of things.  And she remembers them and talks about them afterwards--that's the best part! We've taken her to a nature center with lots or reptiles she was able to hold and we've taken her to a sweet safari zoo nearby.  Yesterday we took her to the aquarium.  We told her the entire way that we were going to see the "big fish" and during the 1-1 1/2 hour drive there she didn't fuss or complain once about the car ride, she just said excitedly, "We're going to see the BIG FISH! The BIG FISH, Mommy!"  It was awesome!

She enjoyed herself thoroughly as she ran from one aquarium to the other excitedly calling out all the fishies and their colors while standing on the ledge holding grasping or touching the window. By the time we got to the huge wrap-around aquarium that you can walk through--the one with some sharks in it--she was pretty much done and ready to take a nap--she'd seen her share of big fish.

We always try to get her a little toy that helps her remember the occasion.  When we went to the nature center, she took home a finger puppet chipmunk and a sand filled little gecko (which she adores).  When we went to the zoo, she took home a bufalo.  So I was hoping to have her take home some small stuffed animal or figurine that would help her to remember all the fish we saw.  We got into the gift shop and said, "Bunny, you get to pick a toy to take home.  Go pick a toy!"  I wasn't sure if she understood.  She certainly enjoyed running around the store taking sweet toys off the shelf and trying them out for a moment or two.  Then we'd show her something else and she'd drop what she had and grab the new toy.
At one point, she found this silicone(?), hot pink penguin.  Dave and I don't really like toys like that because they get dirty and wear out.  We were waiting for the moment where she got over it and found another toy.  But now.  She walked around the store snubbing everything else and cuddling that little penguin and playing with it's spiky, silicone hair. She even walked right up to the check out counter with it.  It was at this point that I realized that she had, in fact, understood our proposition of picking out a toy she liked.  We tried the "switch and wow" method.  I snatched the toy away as Dave shoved a dolphin in her face.  But she wasn't having it.  We almost had her to the point where she was ready to buy a hammer head shark but there was sadness in her eyes as she hugged it.  I understood, then, that we're no longer at the point where we get to pick out what she likes.  She has decided preferences and we're going to have to go with those when we give her options.  "Dave, I think we're going to have to let her get the penguin," I said reluctantly.  So I grabbed her hot pink penguin and gave it to her and she joyfully snuggled it and caressed it like a long lost friend.  Because I really wanted something to help her remember what she had actually seen in the aquarium (we hadn't seen penguins), I bought her a little finger puppet shark and a cardboard book all about many of the different species we had seen.  She didn't care about them at the moment, but she will.  And hopefully it will help her to remember.

Bunny's birthday present from Zulily!

Bunny's birthday is only a couple of weeks away so when I found this little treasure on Zulily for only $26, I was PSYCHED to buy it! I coupled that deal (down from $48) with my $15 in referral credits and a coupon for 10% off (FAMILY10) and bought it for only $14 and some change shipped.  I just KNOW Bunny is going to love it! She's come to a very creative stage in her play time where she talks to her dollies and animals and tells them what to do and where to sit and sometimes speaks for them so having a little school house and play yard with adorable little plastic people to act out her fantasies is wonderful.  I cannot wait for her to see it!

I also debated about whether to buy this adorable wooden alphabet puzzle for only $15:

...or this sorting bead set for only $10, but ultimately decided that the schoolhouse was what Bunny would most want.

Away

My little family is away again this week.  For ten days my husband is the young adult leader for our denomination's local camp meeting.  It's an AWESOME time of faith, fellowship, and fun.  I've come here since Dave and I were dating only one month and I fell in love with it and we've been going ever since.  Since we live nearby, we've never stayed over night, just commuted back and forth for a couple of days.  This is the first time we've actually stayed over and we're loving it as is little Bunny.  It's great!
When we get back, I'll have a week left til I start teaching again and hopefully, with the return of my routine, my regular blog posts will return as well.  You would have thought that I would write more often now that I'm home for the summer, but oddly enough it just hasn't turned out that way.  Go figure!

Have a blessed week!
