10% off my diapers, TODAY ONLY!

Hey guys! Etsy has just created coupon codes for our shops so in celebration, and because it's Cyber Monday, I'm offering you a special code! Use BECCASCYBER10 to get 10% off your order for today only (or until I remember to deactivate the code which will probably be tomorrow morning around 7am).  I just listed new diapers, and there are lots of wool products, so it's a good time to buy one of my diapers if you've been on the fence about trying them out.

New in my Shop!

With the Thanksgiving break I've been able to get some knitting and sewing done.  I've listed these as a custom order for Saskia at Sunflowerradiantlove (we actually made a trade)

And these for the general public.  I hope you like them!

Including, my first large diaper! I finally FINALLY perfected the pattern (and I actually perfected the medium as well, but I haven't listed my new medium yet because I'm busy making some more for Bunny).

A Sick Day

I haven't meant to be so absent from my blog, but for the past two weeks, someone has been sick in my family.  Never more than one of us at the same time, but if one of us gets better, then another gets sick--sometimes again--so I've been duly exhausted.

When it was my turn to get sick at the beginning of this week, my husband sweetly stayed home with me and did his work from home so that I could just lounge and rest and he could run after Bunny if she needed assistance.  It worked out well, since I was better the next day (just in time to take care of a virus Bunny caught).

But Bunny loves me.  She wants to inhabit the same space that I inhabit at all times if possible.  I wanted to be able to interact with her, but I just couldn't chase her around the house or play blocks with her so we pulled up some Sesame Street Clips from youtube and this is how she watched them with me.  Later on, she put her whole body up on top of my chest so that my head was between her legs.  That's when I called in the big guns--AKA Daddy--and he rescued me from my smelly plight! Ha ha!

Dad's Dress Shirt Dress: Tutorial

So, I found the original tutorial that inspired me to make my own Dad's dress shirt dress.  I didn't use this tutorial, so I can't vouch for how easy/difficult it is, but here's the URL if you want to try it out yourself or simply get inspired to create your own pattern as I did.  :-D

My first Newborn Diaper for Sale!

Since my friend's baby was born back in the beginnings of September, I've been working hard drafting and redrafting a newborn pattern. Then, I gave it to two mom's with newborns to test, and I was able to even test it myself on my friend's baby when she was about 10 lbs. Now, I finally have something that I feel confident enough about to sell. So that is what I'm doing. Meet my first newborn diaper on Etsy! It is selling for $6.50 plus shipping (which is only as much as I actually pay to ship things)

If you have a baby on the way, this one might be for you! I used a luxuriously soft velour hoodie to make the inner layer which will be up against the baby's gentle skin. I'm quite proud of the final product!

Upcycled Toddler Dress

Way back when I saw a tutorial on a sewing blog (I'm so sorry that I don't remember where) about how to make a dress for your baby girl using one of her Daddy's discarded dress shirts. Well, since I'm somewhat of a control freak and I like to do things my own way using my own patterns (mostly so I can sell them in the future should I choose to do so) I made up my own dress pattern sort of using a dress that Bunny already owns, and used one of her Daddy's old dress shirts to make this dress:

I'm sorry about the picture quality. It was taken on my iPhone. I had every intention of taking pictures of the dress with good lighting and my SLR camera so we went to the park with that intention. Guess who'd forgotten to charge her battery???? So, here are more pictures of the dress, also taken on my iPhone. They're not the best pictures ever, but you get the idea :-D

The thing I love best about this dress is that I kept the pockets and the snaps that were on the original dress shirt (that I didn't think to take a picture of before cutting it apart) so it took me less than an hour to make a dress with gorgeous pockets and high quality snaps!

Maybe if I ever have the time, someday, I'll post a tutorial of my own.  Right now, my plate's so full that I barely have the time to blog regularly rather less post lengthy tutorials.  Ha ha!

Two more in the shop!

I have two more small fitteds in my shop. Of course, my daughter got a version of each as well because I just can't help myself. There are two sides of every shirt and sometimes, if the shirt is large enough, I can use it as the outer for 3 or 4 diapers, so if it's super cute, my daughter gets a version of the diaper as well.
