Our chiropracter told us that we need to hold Bunny upside down for 90 seconds a day to help her back stay aligned--especially since the typical way to change diapers (pulling the baby's bottom up by the ankles) is bad for their backs. Anyway, we don't usually remember to do it that frequently, but every couple of days one of us will remember, and boy, she loves it! She just thinks it's the best thing ever. Especially on this particular day when she had a very unique view of daddy's face!!!

I'm a Guest Blogger!
My post entitled "Diaper Dictionary" is now live on The Cloth Diaper Blog. If you're confused about all the different types of diapers out there, please check it out because I've done my best to make it quite simple for all who are interested!
I was a little bummed because I sent them pictures of my AIO Diaperkit.com diapers but they didn't post them. Probably because they didn't want to advertise another diaper retailer? Or maybe they just didn't like the pictures. But I love diaperkit.com so I, of course, sent in some of those pictures as well.
I bet you're wondering WHY I'm always guest blogging.
Well, Kelly's Closet and Diaper Junction give you reward points that can add up to FREE DIAPERS when a guest post is approved. I've now sent in 10 posts to The Cloth Diaper Blog, which gives me $75 to spend in their store, and 1 to The Cloth Diaper Whisperer, which I haven't turned into points yet. I prefer writing for The Cloth Diaper Blog (Diaper Junction) because they link back to your own blog, but The Cloth Diaper Whisperer awards more points per post.
Anyway, just an FYI for you! You can contact those places to see how you too can earn points towards FREE DIAPERS!!!

Stripping advice from Fuzzi Bunz
I was over at the Fuzzi Bunz Facebook fan page and was looking through the discussions. I'm VERY excited to have found this advice written by the Fuzzi Bunz FB page moderator. I"m copying and pasting it here, but it is NOT my writing. Go over there yourself and check it out. It's the best diaper stripping advice/explanation I have ever heard!
And while you're at it, why don't you become a FB fan? YOu might learn some great things from them!
"FuzziBunz Cloth Diapers Stinky diapers are often a result of improper laundering, more often if you have an HE washing machine. Simply put, urine and/ or poop made it through all the rinse/ wash cycles and is still present in your diapers and/ or inserts.
For example, each insert holds about 8-16 oz of urine. If you have 15 diapers in your wash load, that equals 15 cups of pee! And for many HE washing machines that use a small amount of water, you end up with a 50/50 mix of urine and water in the drum. So your diapers are swishing around in urine and a little soap. If they aren't being rinsed out thoroughly, then a little bit of urine is left over after each wash. After a few washes, the ammonia salts build up and you start to get a smell after the baby pees. It reactivates all the salts that are still inside the inserts.
Another example, if a poopy diaper gets waded up during the cool pre-rinse, it could make it out of the cycle still waded in a ball. Then the poop gets "set in" to the fabric when it hits the hot wash cycle, thus the smell you get when you open the washer at the end of the cycle.
Please do the following to resolve your current stinky diapers and/ or inserts issues:
* Do a soak with a detergent like Rockin Green Soap, Vaska or Charlie's Soap. Put a little extra soap into the wash, (like 3 tbs if using a top loader, less if using a bucket), and fill the washer, sink or bucket with HOT water and your inserts. Then let them soak for about an hour, or even overnight.
* Next, wash them as normal doing an extra rinse or two. This will enable the detergent to really soak into the inserts and neutralize the ammonia salts, and the extra rinses will flush them out completely.
* Line dry (especially in the sun, if possible) or tumble dry on low.
Some tips to prevent any future stinky problems:
* Add more cool rinsing to the beginning of your wash routine every time. You should always do a thorough cool rinse before moving on to a hot wash cycle with detergent.
* If you have an HE washing machine, we suggest that you do a full cool wash cycle w/o any detergent. This will help flush out the urine, and then give it a fresh water change to add the detergent.
* It's worth the time to explore the different settings on your washing machine to possibly add more water and/ or rinse cycles. If you have an HE washing machine, many cycles use more water than others, while some models are weight sensitive and you can add a towel into the washer to trick it into putting more water in the basin.
* In general, a bit more water = less stink!"

My Happy Heiny's Loot!
Not three days after I ordered my Happy Heiny's with the $50 I won from the photo contest, my beautiful diapers came in the mail!!!
Here mommy, let me help you!
Two Happy Heiny's One-Size pocket diapers, and one medium Happy Heinys sherpa fitted (that fitted is the most absorbent one that I've EVER used! Normally the outside of my daughter's fitteds feel wet when she pees, but she can pee in this baby for awhile before it feels wet on the outside--you should all get one!)
One thing I don't like about the HH that I currently have is the rounded shape of their inserts. I was so pleased to see that they changed the size of their inserts! The only other tiny complaint I have with the diaper is that the fleece pills considerably over time--we'll have to see how these new HH wash. Maybe they've replaced it with non-pilling microfleece. Other than that, I have always been a HH fan! My husband is their biggest fan.
Well... my hubby loves the HH because of their velcro. It's very high quality velcro that really holds firm and secure unlike diapers with Applix closures. He was slightly disappointed that we didn't get more HH with velcro closures. But I really want to have a stash that is 1/2 snaps and 1/2 velcro/applix because I have a feeling that snaps might last longer, so snaps it is.
Check out the rise snaps and the rows of closure snaps.

Wearing them!
In her fitted. I took a couple of pictures for next months HH contest.
So pretty!
Don't forget to take a picture of your darling in his/her HH diaper and submit it to Happyheinys.com for April's contest!

Happy Heiny's Contest
I partly owe my decision to cloth diaper to my dear friend Nina. (I also owe it to my friend Jess who first made me aware of the modern cloth diaper and told me how easy it is! Another random sidenote--Nina, Jess and I all became good friends in Spain where we studied abroad, but I digress) Why do I owe my CD decision to her? well, because her sister cloth diapers and somehow, between her sister and her mother, and Nina I got the gift my first cloth diapers. Three beautiful bumGenius 3.0 diapers given to me hours after my daughter was born. And now, I'm saving lots and lots of money in our budget every week thanks to Nina's sister because I became absolutely hooked. Okay, obsessed is a better word for it. What a weird thing to be obsessed over!
So anyway, I'm extremely excited that Nina's beautiful niece is entered in the Happy Heiny's contest!
She's GORGEOUS! Check her out:
...and then go to www.happyheinys.com and vote for her and all the cute little babies pictured there! If you have the same blogger friends as me, you might recognize some of the other precious faces over there.
Happy voting!

I won, I won, I won!!!
Diaper Discussions had a fun giveaway on her Facebook Fan page for St. Patty's day. She did a photo contest where two photos of cute babies in their green diapers would be chosen to win a $10 gift certificate from Earth Angels Diaper Co. So I entered Bunny and she won one of the prizes!! Here's the winning photo:
It's funny because the only random giveaway I've ever won is from Julie at Diaper Discussions/Earth Angels Diaper Co. Way back when, Bunny won the Minky Moo Tweedlebugs diaper from her!
You should check out her FB page and browse all the adorable entries. They're all really, really cute! I would have such a hard time choosing if I were her.
